Last year, on the last day of our ski vacation, I bought my first snowboard: A Burton Talent Scout with some sick-ass bindings. It also came with a convenient carrying bag. The year before that, I finally found some shoes that fit properly (Burton Felix), so I bought them. I always said I didn't want Burton because they felt like the Apple of snowboard gear to me, a little overpriced. However, I tried the shoes at a rental shop after going back like 4 times because the other shoes hurt and my heel kept lifting, and these ones have the extra boa which secure your heel. Last year I was looking to maybe get a board because I'd been renting until then, and I wanted something nice and light and flexible so I could fuck around a little. I also wanted something that looked cool ofcourse. I went into HOT ZONE and found this one, and I was kinda sold immediately. Thus, now I eventually ended up with a full Burton setup... Oh well ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Anyway, yesterday we went to Snowworld Landgraaf with some friends, and this was the first time actually trying the board because last year I rented the same model before finally buying it. All went well and I like it a lot, but of course it got kinda scratched up because there were a lot of people at Landgraaf who probably stood on a snowboard or skis for the first time.
After a really fun day, my board sadly looked like this:
These aren't that deep though, and I first thought about using something like Commandant to buff it out, but that may be a little too rough since I don't want to damage the top layer. I then got the idea to use toothpaste, as you can also use that to buff out car scratches. I put some on a damp cloth and rubbed with medium pressure in circles around the scratches. Lo and behold, they went away pretty well! You can still see them a little bit if you look closely, but that doesn't really bother me as it's a board anyway and it'll get scratched eventually. Just trying to keep it looking as good as I can for now!
